[Katniss can be seen stalking through the forest, orange bag on her back. She hears a slight rustle of leaves and stops abruptly, taking her knife out and immediately on the defensive. But it's just a rabbit.]

Good to see you. [She whispers before going on.]

2:54

[She's deeper in the forest now. But she's going downhill still. Every so often she looks around. Getting more and more anxious it seems. But she keeps on going. She's been at it for hours already.]

4:12

[She still hasn't stopped. Still keeps walking. Until she hears something. She pauses now, a definite cannon going off. And slowly she counts them. One... two... three.... all the way to eleven shots.

Eleven dead.

Is Peeta one of them?]

Oh. Yeah.


Eleven dead. Thirteen to go.

[Exhausted now, Katniss slumps up against a tree until she's on the ground. She takes off the orange bag and starts to rummage through it for the first time. God. Orange. Too obvious.

Contents:
One thin black sleeping bag to reflect body heat.
A pack of crackers.
A pack of dried beef strips.
A small coil of wire.
A pair of sunglasses.
A half-gallon plastic bottle with a cap.

Empty.

She's so thirsty.]

6:27

[tributed]

[Still going downward. Still apprehensive about it. And still thirsty. But hungry now too. Still, she can't dig into her food supply yet. So she approaches a tree and cuts off a sliver of bark, exposing the softer inner bark that she cuts out.

She starts to chew on the bark as she walks along again.]

7:38

[tributed]

[It's getting darker. She's been at this all day. but she finally has to stop.

She uses the wire to set two snare traps before walking about 5 minutes away from the traps. Here she picks a willow tree very carefully, surrounded by other willows. She finds a spot up the tree and puts the bag into the sleeping bag before climbing into it. She then wraps her belt around her and the branch she's on before refastening it and puts on her hoodie.]

[Katniss is still in her tree when the anthem begins to play. Above on a big screen pictures start to flash in order of districts.

The girl from 3. The boy from 4. Boy from 5. Both girl and boy from both 6 and 7. The boy in 8. Boy and girl from 9. The girl from 10.

All dead.



Katniss tries to go to sleep.]
